Café Lumière started as a two-person bakery with one oven and a very long list of ideas. In 2019 we signed the lease on a narrow storefront in the old town, painted the walls ourselves, and started baking before dawn.
We're still small on purpose. Everything here is made in our own kitchen — the sourdough proofs overnight, the croissants are laminated by hand, and the coffee is roasted a few streets away. Most of it is ready before you're even awake.
What began as a morning bread run for the neighbours has become a second living room for the whole street: students with laptops, parents with strollers, regulars who never have to order because we already know. That's the café we always wanted — and the one we get to open every morning.
